E.J. Krause's M-Enabling Summit Draws 450 Attendees to High-level Conference

In an effort to expand its U.S.-based portfolio, global event organizer E.J. Krause recently held the second edition of its M-Enabling Summit, which focuses on mobile technology for people with disabilities, June 6-7 in Washington, D.C.

“M-Enabling Summit gained wide spread support from disability and senior organizations as well as the private industry, demonstrating the strategic importance of this rapidly growing sector,” said Ned Krause, president and CEO of E.J. Krause and Associates.

He added, “Promoting M-Enabling Solutions is definitely the next frontier for the mobile industry around the world, as the reliance on technology continues to impact nearly all facets of daily life.”

Keynotes Mignon L. Clyburn, Acting Chairwoman, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Dan Hesse, Sprint CEO, welcomed more than 450 top-level attendees from around the world.

The opening plenary of the Summit, “Universal Access for All Ages and All Abilities,” examined the common objective of how to achieve universal access to technology, information, and communication resources for people with disabilities and senior citizens around the world.

The M-Enabling Summit, organized by E.J. Krause & Associates and G3ict, in cooperation with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), featured one a program that encompassed a variety of topics from sectors, including education, senior services, rehabilitation, travel and transportation, gaming, mobile e-commerce and emergency response.

Leading solutions for physical, visual and speech impairments, hard of hearing, as well as learning and cognitive disabilities also were showcased.

In addition, the summit reviewed how mobile applications and services leveraging the latest accessibility innovations embedded in smartphones and tablets are playing a key role in rapidly transforming these sectors.

With more than one billion potential users worldwide, accessible and assistive solutions are at the forefront of the mobile industry as a whole, opening a wide window for new market opportunities.

Persons with disabilities alone now encompass the largest minority group with discretionary spending capacity, more than $220 billion.

The nextM-Enabling Summit will be held in June 2014 in D.C.

Additionally, attendees can benefit from 20 double-sided 55" mobile flexible display units, facilitating effortless navigation to meeting rooms and events. RFID locks were installed on all meeting room doors, and over 200 motion detection cameras have been placed throughout the space. Featuring white-washed walls and ceilings adorned with bold floral patterns in cerulean and coral tones, the space is complemented by warm walnut accent walls. In addition to the redesign of all pre-function spaces, meeting rooms and ballrooms, Mandalay Bay's 1 million square feet of exhibit space has undergone a rejuvenation, including new paint, covered pillars and relocated strobe lights.
