318 MICE Events Held in Macau in Q2

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) under the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region released its MICE statistics in Macao for the quarter ended 30th June 2016.  A total of 318 MICE events were held in the quarter, including 292 meetings & conferences, 18 exhibitions and 8 incentive events. The total number of MICE participants was 451,000.

The 18 exhibitions attracted a total of 392,000 attendees, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.1%. The average duration of the exhibitions was 3.4 days and the total floor area used was 85,000 m2 – up by 27.4% respectively year-on-year.

According to the information collected from the organisers of the exhibitions, the exhibitions attracted 1,455 exhibitors, of which 34% came from Macau and 27% from Mainland China. Professional visitors totalled 34,000 with 53.5% from Macau.
