In more end-of-the-year mergers and acquisitions news, the National Association of Broadcasters bought two shows - Content and Communications World (CCW) and Satellite Communications Conference and Expo (SATCON) – from JD Events. The shows are collocated and held annually in November at the Jacob K. Fifteen months ago, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events appointed a new president and CEO, David DuBois, who jumped into his new role with enthusiasm and hit the ground running. Cosmoprof Asia, a global beauty event held in November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, posted impressive numbers, with a 10-percent increase in attendance, compared with last year’s event. The 10th edition of Tarsus Group’s biennial Label Expo Asia broke attendance records when it was held Dec. 3-6 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. There were 21,416 attendees, an 18.8-percent increase, compared with 18,019 who came to the 2011 show. Attendees were from 87 countries, up 11 percent from 74 countries in 2011. Anticipating increased interest in UBM Asia’s Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo (CBME) after the Chinese government  announcing it will relax the one-child policy by allowing couples to have a second baby if either is the only child in family, the show recently went to the United Kingdom to expand its customer base.
