August 16, 2017

The inaugural Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) was held from 21st to 25th July 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The new show was held concurrently with the 28th Hong Kong Book Fair which was also held at the HKCEC from 19th to 25th July.

The Sports and Leisure Expo featured approximately 90 exhibitors from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan and Korea and the event showcased sports and leisure products and services from more than 130 brand names. Under the theme “Stadium Live,” the show featured six zones: Outdoor Adventure, Sport Hub, Health & Fitness, Photography World, Fun & Play as well as a handicraft market.

According to the HKTDC, visitors with valid Book Fair tickets dated from 21st to 25th July were also permitted to visit the Sports and Leisure Expo. Nearly one million visitors attended the Book Fair during the seven-day show, despite a postponed opening on 23rd July due to a typhoon. Due to the weather postponement, the HKTDC extended the opening hours of the two fairs on 24th and 25th July.
