Trip to Strip

Leave it to Las Vegas to introduce a fun new transportation option for groups. For many of us who live in metro areas, taking Uber or Lyft has become a weekly or even daily occurrence—so why not shake things up when you’re traveling for a conference?

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada has launched a new convenient rideshare option for groups of up to 11 riders arriving in the city for meetings and conventions.

Free from surge pricing (we’re looking at you, Uber) and with a limousine-like interior, the aptly named Trip to Strip is an on-demand rideshare service that covers the area from the Las Vegas Strip to McCarran International Airport. Its service region also includes Las Vegas Convention Center, and it plans to expand to downtown Las Vegas and M Resort Spa Casino in Henderson, Nevada, in the near future.

“Trip to Strip is designed as an extension of our transit service on the Las Vegas Strip, but we do things Vegas-style,” said Tina Quigley, CEO of RTC. “We know travel preferences are changing, and [business travelers] are looking for new mobility options. Trip to Strip is an affordable and dynamic response to evolving consumer needs.”

Rides start at $6, and you can even work as you go: The vehicles are equipped with free Wi-Fi along with USB ports for charging, plus roomy space for luggage (or even golf clubs, if you’re planning to hit the links).

“RTC’s Trip to Strip will offer our convention attendees a convenient and affordable new way to get to and from Las Vegas Convention Center,” said Steve Hill, CEO and president of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “Transportation is vital to our visitors, and Trip to Strip is another on-demand option for our attendees who often travel together in groups.”

You can download the Trip to Strip all in the Apple or Google Play store. Enter the promo code FIRSTRIDE to receive 15 percent off your first ride.
