Scott Schulman Named CEO of UBM Americas

U.K.-based UBM has named Scott Schulman CEO of UBM Americas, and Simon Foster, who held the CEO position after Sally Shankland stepped down, will resume his position as CEO of UBM EMEA. 

UBM Americas is one of the largest business-to-business trade show companies in the U.S. with a growing portfolio as well in Brazil and Mexico. 

Schulman will focus on continuing the implementation of UBM’s ‘Events First’ strategy and the unification of the UBM Americas business, including the ongoing successful integration of the Advanstar business. 

“I am delighted Scott is joining UBM," UBM CEO Tim Cobbold said. “His leadership experience, his focus on operational excellence and his appreciation of the value of content mean he is perfectly placed to continue to implement our “Events First” strategy and the unification of our UBM Americas business.”

Schulman has a strong leadership background in multi-platform innovation and transforming businesses with new areas, for profitability and growth.

He most recently as president of Rodale, the leading healthy lifestyle media company that owns hallmark brands such as Men’s Health and Bicycling and serves more than 75 million customers globally.

At Rodale, Schulman developed and led the strategy to transform a once publishing-focused company into the multiplatform health and wellness business it is today.

During his tenure, Schulman improved monetization, expanded live events and established a foundation for new business models in a variety of areas. 

Schulman also previously was president of Dow Jones Corporate Markets Group, where he drove the digital strategy and led Internet product expansion during a critical period of transformation and growth.

UBM Americas has 12 of the 2015 TSNN Top 250 trade shows on the list, including MAGIC Market Week and Medical Design & Manufacturing West.

Donations include: Unserved perishable prepared foods from events Perishable unprepared food from MGM Resorts’ kitchens Nonperishable food items from minibars and warehouses The collaboration with Southern Nevada’s primary food bank, Three Square, has developed the infrastructure needed to safely collect, transport, and store food from MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas, reducing food waste while serving the community.
