Shanghai Hospitality Design & Engineering Expo 2017 Expanding

December 19, 2016

Based on its successful 2016 edition, Shanghai Hospitality Design & Engineering Expo (HDE) 2017, hosted by UBM Sinoexpo, will expand to over 45,000 sqm of exhibiting space and 90,000 visitors together with the concurrent Hotel Plus Mockup Room Show (Hotel Plus).

With four months to go, the preparation work for HDE 2017 is in full swing and the organizers will continue to work closely with all partners concerned to make the April show perfect.

A trendy hospitality design event, Hotel Plus attracts more hotel groups and designers to join HDE. There are many important confirmed partners so far such as Hilton Group, Shimao Group, Unolai Lighting Design, KLID Firm, Landison Group, Huajiantang Hotels and more. They will bring their newest-designed rooms to demonstrate their concepts to hotel owners and real estate developers at HDE 2017.

Many insightful and informative conferences are being prepared. Well-known overseas designers have showed their interest to be keynote speakers at the conference, such as Ian Carr, HBA CEO who designed the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai, The Westin Shanghai and the Galaxy Ritz-Carlton Macau; Jean Michel Gathy, a Belgian architect and designated designer of Aman Resorts; Kerry Hill, who has designed some of the world's top resort hotels such as The Lalu, Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan, The Datai in Malaysia, Amanemu and Aman Tokyo in Japan; and Mei Ping, Chief Representative, China Capella Hotel Group Asia, among others.

There were 400-plus exhibitors from 22 countries who participated in HDE 2016. The concurrent Design Week Shanghai Series Conferences enjoyed considerable popularity.

Across the 20 conferences, about 200 industry professionals and design masters were invited to the exhibition to share their perspectives of the industry. Mr Toni Chi, a well-known design master, gave a very well-received keynote speech at the China International Building & Interior Design Forum. Over 3,000 attendees were attracted to the conferences, which brought new visitor resources to the exhibition.

Another highlight of the exhibition is the "Hotel Plus" Mockup Hotel Room Show, an onsite room design display. In 2016 it successfully presented 12 mockup rooms in different styles with the cooperation of famous designers and hotel management groups. The combination of original designs and intelligent systems amazed all the visitors.

Booth sales are going faster than they did last year thanks to China's booming tourism industry and to positive feedback from participants.
