NACE/CARS Trade Show Will Double in Size in 2014

March 14, 2014

Six months after taking over management of the NACE/CARS event from Hanley Wood Exhibitions, show officials with Houston-based business-to-business media company, Stone Fort Group, said they expect the show to be double in size when it runs July 13-Aug. 2 at the Cobo Center in Detroit.

Dan Risley, executive director of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) that owns the show, said this year’s NACE/CARS event will feature more than 50,000 square feet of exhibit space and 30,000 sq. ft. of space dedicated to live demonstrations and show cars.

On pace to sell out, he added the event already has booked 20 percent more exhibit space, compared with the 24,000 sq. ft. that were sold in 2013.

“This represents a significant change in events and a strong commitment on behalf of the automotive market to support the only national show solely dedicated to both the collision and service repair industries,” Risley said.

Officials from Stone Fort Group said companies that have booked space represent all segments of the collision and mechanical repair markets, including auto manufacturers, paint companies, product suppliers, equipment companies, parts suppliers, information and estimating providers, insurance companies, training organizations and other industry vendors.

The event will be held in conjunction with Industry Week 2014, which includes the I-CAR Industry Event, Collision Industry Conference (CIC) meeting and Collision Repair Education Foundation annual golf fundraiser.
