A grand total of 6,092 association professionals and industry partners converged Aug. 18-21 in Chicago for the 2018 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition, the highest attendance the annual industry event has attracted.  “This is our largest meeting ever!,” ASAE President and CEO John H. Graham IV told a packed room of journalists earlier this week. He added, “Probably the only place we could have a larger meeting was to have it in D.C, but that hasn’t happened in 25 years.” The 2007 event also was in Chicago when it scored its second highest attendance. In an MOU signed at SMF 2018 between SACEOS and UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, both associations agreed upon a collaboration to develop a joint ‘Asia Pacific Executive Development Programme’ to create new strengths relevant for the future-readiness of exhibition professionals in the region. ASAE will recognize six associations with the 2018 Summit Award, the highest recognition under The Power of A Awards. The six organizations will receive their awards Oct. 3 during the 19th Annual Power of A — Summit Awards Dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.  The winners were selected by the Power of A Awards Judging Committee, and the committee received 110 entries. CES2018 set a record with 63,784 international attendees - more than a third of the entire show attendance - according to a final audit report that will be released by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), owner and producer of CES. The audit also confirmed 4,473 exhibitors across a record number of 2.78 million net square feet of exhibit space.
