TSNN Welcomes Matt Swenson as New Editorial Director

November 30, 2020

Trade Show News Network (TSNN) is thrilled to welcome Matt Swenson on board as editorial director.

Swenson will be overseeing TSNN, the top online news source in the trade show industry, as well as Corporate Event News, for corporate event planners.

“Matt has a strong background in not only journalism, but also the meetings and events industry,” said EVP of Business Development, Tarsus US and Tarsus Media President Rachel Wimberly.

She added, “The TSNN and Corporate Event News teams are excited to work with Matt and look forward to providing high-quality content to our extensive audiences.”

Swenson is a communications specialist with more than 20 years’ experience in journalism, marketing and B2B companies.

Most recently, he was editorial director of Connect's B2B publications and websites, including Connect Association, Connect Corporate, Connect Faith, Connect Expo and Connect Sports.

In 2019, Eventex named Swenson one of the 100 most influential members of the event industry.

Swenson came to Connect in 2014 after having served as assistant managing editor at Washington Post Express, a daily publication in Washington, D.C., of which he was a founding editor in 2003.

At Express, he oversaw production of the news side of the newspaper, organizing coverage on everything from the Olympics to presidential elections.

Swenson has strong ties to the events industry. Beyond his work with Connect, including assisting on-site with its conferences, he collaborated with associations, association management companies, event companies, marketing organizations and more to help offset the challenges brought about by COVID-19.

He is excited to share good news as the events and trade show industry recover from one of the most challenging years in recent memory.

Originally from Washington D.C., Swenson now is based north of Atlanta, where he lives with his wife and two children, ages 7 and 5.
