In the past year, Thailand has been awarded a substantial number of bids for not only regional, but also global events to be hosted in the country, according to the Thailand Convention & Convention Bureau. These eight events are expected to generate revenues of at least Baht 900 million (US$117 million). Global Sources ended 2011 with a positive Q4 revenue increase to $74 million, compared with $63 million in 2010, as well as positive increases in full-year revenues to $225 million from $197 million in 2010. The project update is intended to communicate the latest news, keys issues related to the timetable, impacts during construction and strategies for business continuity of the redevelopment. Germany-based international exhibition organiser, Messe Frankfurt, is exploring ways to expand its business in Asia, particularly in the Philippines. Reed Exhibitions announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Australia’s clean energy event, All-Energy Australia, for an undisclosed amount. All-Energy Australia, launched in 2009, is a two-day event held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC). The 2011 edition attracted over 3,600 participants and 230 exhibiting companies to the event. The inaugural edition of the Asia Apparel Expo-Berlin, organized by Kenfair International, concluded with the attendance of 171 Asian exhibitors from mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh and Indonesia –over 70 percent of exhibitors were from Hong Kong and mainland China. The three-day event was held at the Messe Berlin Exhibition Grounds Feb. 21-23 and it featured 212 exhibition booths covering nearly 1,900 square meters of total space. Since the program’s launch in 2016, more than 3.7 million meals toward a 2025 goal of 5 million meals have been donated into the community. Donations include: Unserved perishable prepared foods from events Perishable unprepared food from MGM Resorts’ kitchens Nonperishable food items from minibars and warehouses The collaboration with Southern Nevada’s primary food bank, Three Square, has developed the infrastructure needed to safely collect, transport, and store food from MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas, reducing food waste while serving the community.
