The Association for Women in Events (AWE), a not for profit organization supporting gender equality and diversity in the event industry, has announced its 2018 inductees for the Women in Events Hall of Fame Recognition Program, hosted by the AWE Awards Committee.

This Committee was formed with a vision to create an engaged group of elite industry professionals that exemplify AWE values and serve as an ongoing resource for inspiration, guidance and leadership.

The Women in Events Hall of Fame recognizes the advancement of women in events by honoring women and men with a categorical award.

Members and non-members, women and men in the events, hospitality and tourism industry were eligible to nominate and earn the recognition.

This year, AWE received over 140 nominations from around the globe.

The judging panel is made up of 2018 AWE board members and events industry veterans who selected the following 2018 inductees: Courtney Stanley, Disruptor Award; Annette Gregg, CMM, MBA, Coach Award; Carole McKellar, MA, CMM, FCIPD, Woman of Influence Award; Sabrina Millet-Kanabar, Emerging Leader Award and Jon'll Boyd, Organizational Leadership Award.

Inductees of each respective categorical award will receive several opportunities for recognition, such as lifetime membership to AWE, becoming presenters or advisors for various AWE programs and events, press interviews, special profiles on the AWE website and more.

IMEX also sponsors each inductee with U.S. flights and accommodation to attend IMEX America 2018 in Las Vegas.

The official inductees were announced via Facebook Live on the AWE Facebook page on July 12, 2018.

“I was thrilled to see women being recognized from all over the world," said Marie-Claire Andrews, AWE board member and Awards Committee Chair, "There were so many impressive candidates again this year—congratulations to all!"
