As World Routes draws to a close on the African continent, the Province of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa, officially has handed the event over to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in Chengdu, China for 2016.
Speaking at the close of the 21st World Route Development Forum in Durban today, Huang Ping, minister of Chengdu Municipal Government, said: "Hosting World Routes in Chengdu gives us the opportunity to demonstrate, on a global stage, our success in building a national-level aviation hub serving international and domestic airlines.”

Global Sources' 2015 fall trade show series will kick off at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on Oct. 11. The shows will be staged in three phases, with 4,500 exhibitors showcasing products in around 8,000 booths.

Asia’s fair for the home textiles industry recently was held, with new records set for exhibitor, visitor and exhibition space figures.
More than 43,000 trade buyers (2014: 43,189) attended Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition 2015, which was held for the first time at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) across 170,520 square meters (2014: 150,400).
The 1,402 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions (2014: 1,334) that took part was also a new high point in the fair’s 21-year history.

As a key part of the German Convention Bureau’s (GCB) already announced plans to step up its efforts in the international meetings market and specifically in China, the GCB has appointed Henghong Yang to head its new Beijing office, which opened Sept. 1.
"Our new team member Mr. Yang brings just the experience we need to solidify our marketing and relationship development work in China. The world's largest LED and LED lighting event will take place Sept. 16-19 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). The show previously was held in Guangzhou.

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) has chalked up a busy first half in its 10th year of operation with a recorded 661 events drawing a total 778,414 delegates and visitors and an economic impact contribution of RM264 million Jan. 1-June 30, 2015.
The achievement is on the back of a record 2014 performance, when the number of events jumped 11 percent from the 2013 record of 1,565 to 1,759.

Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd will launch a new initiative this year to facilitate nonwovens fabric suppliers’ expansion into China, where imports of such products jumped 128 percent from 2000 to 2013.
The German exhibition company’s Asia Pacific branch will launch the China International Nonwovens Expo & Forum (CINE – supported by Techtextil) from Oct. 14-16, adding one more event to its comprehensive textile portfolio, and complementing the biennial Cinte Techtextil China trade fair.
