Automechanika Shanghai, organised by international exhibition organiser, Messe Frankfurt, which claims to be Asia’s largest trade fair for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, has just announced a 27% increase in the exhibition space to 280,000 m2 at a new venue, National Exhibition and Convention Center, in Shanghai. The next edition will run from 2nd to 5th December 2015.

The organizers of Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology (SIBT) have confirmed they will collaborate with China Smart Home Industry Alliance (CSHIA) to launch a new technical fair – Shanghai Smart Home Technology (SSHT) this fall.
The debut show will be held concurrently with its sister event, SIBT, from Sept. 23-25 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai.

UBM Asia promoted Margaret Ma to vice president of UBM Asia, starting July 1, and she will become a UBM Asia board member.
Ma joined UBM Asia in April 2009 as managing director of UBM China (Shanghai). She started this subsidiary from scratch and developed it into a company, which will be generating US$65 million in revenue this year.
She was the person who sourced and completed one of UBM Asia’s most successful acquisitions in the last 15 years, namely the Shanghai International Children-Baby-Maternity Industry Expo (CBME China).

Due to increased exhibit space demand, ProWine China 2015 will occupy 2 exhibition halls, increasing the exhibition area by 20 percent, compared with the show’s last staging in 2014.
This leading trade fair for wines and spirits in China will take place Nov. 11-13 in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

Adding to its expanding portfolio in Southeast Asia, U.K.-based Tarsus Group acquired 50 percent of the AMB Group via a joint venture vehicle - AMB Tarsus Exhibitions Sdn. Bhd. - from Andrew Siow and Richard Yew.
“AMBT is an excellent strategic acquisition and allows Tarsus to build scale in South East Asia with an entrepreneurial partner,” said Tarsus Group Managing Director Douglas Emslie.

Coex’s 2nd Vietnam International Baby & Kids fair, held June 11-14 at the Tan Binh Exhibition & Convention Center (TBECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, drew a record crowd and exhibitors.
There were 14,900 registered attendees at the show, making it the event with the biggest number of visitors at TBECC. If including the accompanying family members, the total attendance is to reach 34,000.

In April, China’s State Council released an official directive with the aim of boosting the development of the country’s exhibition industry.
According to the lengthy guidelines, a ministerial joint conference, including multiple central government departments, will be established to coordinate the formulation and implementation of new market rules.
