Nat Wong, current president of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, will be succeeded April 16 by Hu Wei. More than 300 delegates from 21 countries and territories broke attendance records when they gathered recently in Hong Kong for UFI, the Global Association for the Exhibitions Industry’s 10th Open Seminar in Asia. This year, the seminar returned to Hong Kong, which also hosted the inaugural edition in 2006. The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) will welcome more than 7,000 participants from 65 countries June 16-19 to the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre for Asian Attractions Expo (AAE) 2015, an international event in the Asia-Pacific attractions industry. The 15th Shanghai International Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo (CBME China 2015) will welcome local and international brands to showcase their latest products July 22-24 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The event will feature more than1,900 suppliers representing 2,650 brands across 200,000 square meters of exhibition space, a 20-percent increase in exhibition scale, compared with 2014. The second edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show was held recently at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) with a record number of exhibitors, three new group pavilions and a debut zone dedicated to precious pearls. London-listed RELX Group (formerly Reed Elsevier) reported its results for the year ended Dec. 31, 2014. The group’s revenues were £5.8 billion (US$9.0 billion), while excluding for biennial exhibition cycling, revenues were up by 3 percent.  Adjusted operating profit in the period was £1.7 billion (US$2.7 billion), an increase of 5 percent. UBM Asia has entered into a strategic partnership with Interexpo (M) Sdn Bhd to organise Interexpo’s annual Beauty Expo in Malaysia starting from the 2015 event. Beauty Expo is the biggest and longest-running beauty trade show in Malaysia and the largest such trade platform in Southeast Asia serving the beauty and wellness industry. With the establishment of Guangzhou Li Tong Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd., Messe Frankfurt has further increased its presence in China. The new subsidiary is a joint venture between Messe Frankfurt’s Hong Kong subsidiary Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. and the Chinese industry association Guangdong Toy Association (GDTA). A total of 434 exhibitors, compared with 431 last year, with 656 brands presented their products from the Outdoor, Action Sports, Ski, Sportstyle and Fabrics & Fibres segments on about 40,000 square meters of exhibit space.
