More than 18,000 buyers from 112 countries and regions took part in the 6th HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition). Earlier this week, the Taiwan International Fastener Show (Fastener Taiwan) was the inaugural event at the official opening of the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC). The Fastener Show attracted 350 exhibitors and was held from 14th to 15th April. Organisers estimate 2,000 overseas visitors attended the two-day trade show. The KEC features gross indoor space of 18,000 m2 across two halls as well as 7,200 m2 of outdoor space. Last week, the Sydney Showground launched a new brand campaign to reflect the official opening of its new multi-purpose building, which is now operational for the first time since its completion in early March. The newly opened Halls 6 and 7 will provide an additional 10,000 m2 of pillar-less indoor exhibition space bringing the total to 32,000 m2 for the venue. The Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) attracted more than 3,300 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions to its concurrent events: the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and International ICT Expo both held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).   The trade fairs were held from 13th to 16th April showcasing a wide range of products and services in the electronics and ICT industries. Messe Frankfurt’s spring edition of Interstoff Asia Essential, which took place from 19th to 21st March 2014, attracted 221 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions – including Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Macau, mainland China, Taiwan and Thailand. The Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center in Mexico is just four and a half years old, but it already is making a name for itself in the international event community. For the past three years, it has been recognized in MDC Magazine Readers Choice Awards as one of Mexico's top 10 convention centers. This year, it was No. 3 on that list.
