HKTDC’s Electronics Shows Feature 4,300 Exhibitors

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has concluded its 37th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 21st electronicAsia running from 13th to 16th October 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The two co-located trade fairs featured some 4,300 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions.
The Electronics Fair was organised by the HKTDC, while the electronicAsia was jointly organised by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Limited. Approximately, 86,000 buyers from 139 countries visited the fairs in three days. (There was a closure on 15th October due to a tropical cyclone). According to the HKTDC, over 60,000 buyers attended the Electronics Fair, while about 26,000 visitors attended the electronicAsia.
HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Benjamin Chau, said, “With the scale of the fairs and the golden opportunity when international industry players all gather in Hong Kong, we hope to help start-ups expand their business, while providing a platform for the electronics and technology industry to exchange information and push forward.”

Water Stewardship Efforts

MGM Resorts replaced 200,000 square feet of real grass with drought-tolerant landscaping in Las Vegas.
MGM Resorts pledges to reduce water withdrawal intensity by 33% by 2025 and by 35% by 2030.
From 2007-2021, use of more than 5.6 billion gallons of water was avoided because of conservation efforts.
Caring for One Another
MGM Resorts’ Food Donations Program collects and preserves unserved food from conventions held at MGM Resorts properties, then safely donates to food insecure people in the community. Since the program’s launch in 2016, more than 3.7 million meals toward a 2025 goal of 5 million meals have been donated into the community. Donations include:
Unserved perishable prepared foods from events
Perishable unprepared food from MGM Resorts’ kitchens
Nonperishable food items from minibars and warehouses
The collaboration with Southern Nevada’s primary food bank, Three Square, has developed the infrastructure needed to safely collect, transport, and store food from MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas, reducing food waste while serving the community.
