SIGGRAPH Asia 2015 in Japan Drew 7,000 Visitors

SIGGRAPH Asia 2015, organised by Koelnmesse, was held from 2nd to 5th November at the Kobe Convention Center. The four-day event, which combines both exhibition and conferences, brought together over 500 keynote speakers and 7,000 trade visitors from 49 countries around the world.

SIGGRAPH Asia this year featured the latest hardware, software, technologies and inventions from around the world. Presentations, panel discussion and talks during the event generated robust discussions and deep insights on current and future developments in the field of computer graphics and interactive techniques.

SIGGRAPH Asia will be move Macao next year. The show will be held Dec. 5-8 at the Venetian Macao. The theme of SIGGRAPH Asia 2016 will be “Key to the Future”.

Yoshifumi Kitamura, Conference Chair, SIGGRAPH Asia 2015, was quoted, “I am confident that visitors enjoyed the rich number of affiliated programs we organised this year, along with more than 150 presentations that took place across all four days. SIGGRAPH Asia is truly the gathering for the most creative and distinguished computer graphics and interactive techniques professionals. It gives me great honour to be a part of this year’s edition in Japan.”

Caring for One Another MGM Resorts’ Food Donations Program collects and preserves unserved food from conventions held at MGM Resorts properties, then safely donates to food insecure people in the community. Since the program’s launch in 2016, more than 3.7 million meals toward a 2025 goal of 5 million meals have been donated into the community. Donations include: Unserved perishable prepared foods from events Perishable unprepared food from MGM Resorts’ kitchens Nonperishable food items from minibars and warehouses The collaboration with Southern Nevada’s primary food bank, Three Square, has developed the infrastructure needed to safely collect, transport, and store food from MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas, reducing food waste while serving the community.
