UBM Asia, a UBM plc company, recently concluded its 4th edition of Taiwan Jewellery & Gem Fair, attracted a total of 6,963 trade visitors to the four-day event from 21st to 24th October 2016. Held at Taipei World Trade Center, Hall 1, the event featured 183 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, occupying 303 booths. Of the 6,963 visitors, 836 visitors, or 12% were from outside Taiwan. The top three visiting countries were Mainland China, India and Japan. Earlier this month, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) concluded two fairs, Hong Kong Optical Fair and Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) attracting some 35,000 trade buyers. In its 24th edition, the Optical Fair was held from 9th to 11th November, featuring over 780 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions. Two energy industry events, Energy Storage China (ESC) and Clean Energy Expo China (CEEC), will be held co-located in 2017, at China International Exhibition Center (CIEC) in Beijing, from 29th to 30th March. ESC, founded in 2014 and organised by Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai, attracted about 30 exhibitors and 2,186 visitors to the recent edition in May 2016, focusing on technology and applications for the energy storage industry. Shanghai, 27th October: The sixth edition of All in Print China concluded with record number of visitors, reaching 76,818, an increase of 24% over the previous edition which was held in 2014. The biennial event was held from 18th to 22nd October at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) and it featured 724 exhibitors from across the world. Currently with over 100 members, the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) plans to expand its membership. In discussions with local government, new organisations will need to become members of MACEOS before being granted a license to operate. Separately, MACEOS recently launched its first Professional Exhibition Management and Professional Conference Management course in Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, aimed at training the labour force for the growing events industry in Malaysia. The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ 2016 IAAPA Attractions Expo, currently running in Orlando, and the 2016 International Baking Industry Exposition both can boast that their largest events in history are this year.
