The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) has appointed Thien Tsen Kiat as TenOnCall Sales Manager and Oh Kin Tat asSales Manager, Conventions & Conferences.
Helming the Centre’s Conventions team, Oh will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a commercially effective sales plan to promote the Centre, its facilities and services in the business tourism segment in order to maximise venue occupancy and yield for conferences held at the facility, according to venue officials.

A record-breaking 2,900 exhibitors took part in four fairs that opened in early January at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre: the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair, HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, Hong Kong International Stationery Fair and HKTDC Hong Kong International Licensing Show.
More than 106,000 buyers attended the fairs, an increase of five percent, compared with the previous year.

Singapore Exhibition Services Food&HotelAsia (FHA) and Wine&SpiritsAsia (WSA) shows will be the first to max out all 10 halls at the Singapore Expo and Max Atria when the show is held April 8-11.
Spanning a total of 100,000 square meters, an 8 percent increase in size from 2012, this year’s show will be the largest edition in the event’s 37-year history.

Marintec China 2013, organized by UBM Asia and the Shanghai Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers, drew not only a record number of exhibitors, but also 13-percent more visitors when it recently ran in early December.

The organizers of Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, scheduled to take place in March 2014, have announced that the fair will be postponed until 2015.
Wendy Wen, senior general manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd said that the decision was made after consultation with all stakeholders of the fair.

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (known as “the Centre”) has appointed Alan Pryor as General Manager Designate.
Pryor takes over from Datuk Peter Brokenshire, who retires at the end of March 2014 after 11 years with the Centre, which included spearheading the setting up and opening of the venue in 2005.

Cosmoprof Asia, a global beauty event held in November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, posted impressive numbers, with a 10-percent increase in attendance, compared with last year’s event.

With 2014 being the first full year for Suntec Singapore’s $184 million renovation to be experienced by events coming into the facility, it’s off to a very good start, with a packed calendar scheduled.
