The 12th Eco Expo Asia will be held Oct. 26-29 at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s (TMG) plan to close Tokyo’s largest purpose-built exhibition venue, Tokyo Big Sight (TBS), during the 2020 Summer Olympics has led to street protests by Japan’s exhibition industry association. TBS will be used as the international press centre during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a result of this plan, about 300 members of the Japan Exhibition Association (JEXA) protested outside the offices of the TMG on 5th October. In a demonstration of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, GES has once again achieved APEX/ASTM Level Two certification for the meetings and event industry. The Mohegan Sun Exposition Center expansion project is more than one-third complete and on schedule for a June 2018 opening. Last month, the leaders of Mohegan Sun and the Mohegan Tribe gathered with guests, including Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman and AZ Corporation, for a ceremonial topping-off to celebrate the progress of the $80 million project, which began last March.
