Messe Duesseldorf Shanghai (MDS) and the China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA) recently announced the joint organization of a new energy storage industry event – Energy Storage China. The event will be held from June 23 - 24, 2014 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing.The German trade fair company Messe Düsseldorf, renowned for its energy storage event in Düsseldorf, Germany, is the partner of Energy Storage China 2014.

It’s not all about tight Lycra shorts at Interbike, the largest cycling trade show and outdoor demo event in North America that took place Sept. 18-20 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
After a record warm spring in 2012 and consequent high sales, the numbers have been flat for many cycling retailers during the past several months. But a few obstacles on the course didn’t scare this hardy crowd, and the 2013 show, owned by Emerald Expositions, was on par with last year, with about 850 exhibitors, 25,000 attendees and 320,000 square feet of space.

Messe Berlin (Singapore), organizer of ITB Asia, ‘The Trade Show for the Asian Travel Market’, has announced a strategic three-year partnership with the Marina Bay Sands, starting in 2014.
The next three editions of ITB Asia will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre Oct. 29-31, 2014; Oct. 21-23, 2015; and Oct. 19-21, 2016.

Reed Travel Exhibitions, a subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions, concluded its meetings, incentives and business travel exhibition, China Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings Expo (CIBTM), earlier this month with growth observed in exhibitor and visitor numbers.
CIBTM 2013 was held from 2nd to 4th September at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing. A total of 465 exhibitors and 3,692 trade visitors attended the event, an increase of 17% and 14% respectively over the previous edition. CIBTM also reported a 4% growth in exhibition space in this edition.

The Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre reported some 650,000 visitors have attended a total of 96 events at the venue since its reopening in June 2013. Around 60% to 70% of those events were return bookings during the three month period.
According to Suntec’s management, the occupancy rate for October has already reached close to 80% with major trade shows such as IT event Cloud Expo Asia also lined up for this November. The venue highlighted its target to attract more medical and IT industry-related events.

Pack Print International, the International Packaging and Printing Exhibition for Asia jointly organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia (MDA), the Thai Packaging Association and Thai Printing Association, has received a show-record attendance of 17,000 visitors from more than 50 countries and regions – a 30% growth from the previous edition.

The Indian Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, announced after his visit to China that the India government plans to build an international convention centre at Devanahalli, a town 40 km northeast of Bangalore. Construction of the new venue is expected to cost around US$79 million and will be located near the Bengaluru International Airport.

From Aug. 31-Sept. 4, Amsterdam RAI played host to the largest medical conference in Europe - European Society of Cardiology Congress 2013 - with 30,000 participants, speakers and representatives from more than 150 countries.

Pharma EXPO, set to launch in November in Chicago, continues to draw support from the industry, with Italian Ipack-Ima Spa, which produces Pharmintech, signing on for as a partner.
Pharma EXPO is produced by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering and will be collocated with PMMI’s PACK EXPO Nov. 2-5 at McCormick Place.
