Marina Bay Sands recently helped Messe Berlin(Singapore), the organiser of ITB Asia 2014, stage the tradeshow’s first-ever carbon neutral event in its seven-year history.
The travel trade show took place Oct. 29-31 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, the first of a three-year run in Marina Bay Sands.
The integrated resort’s team of sustainability experts guided ITB Asia 2014 to reduce its carbon footprint by five per cent from 399 tonnes in 2012. Automechanika Shanghai 2014, Asia’s largest trade show for automotive parts, accessories, equipment and services, will have a record number of exhibitors this week at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The total number of exhibitors stands at 4,906, a six percent increase on last year’s show, with 39 countries and regions represented.

After the highly successful concept of the wine and spirits trade fairs ProWein in Düsseldorf, Germany, and ProWine China in Shanghai, Messe Düsseldorf will organize a new satellite event for Southeast Asia: ProWine Asia.
The first staging will take place April 12-16, 2016, at the Singapore Expo.
With ProWine Asia, Messe Düsseldorf will continue to cooperate with the international Allworld Group, which started with ProWine China several years ago.

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has hired June Ko onto the association's staff as Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations. Ko is based in IAAPA's Hong Kong office.

The Consumer Electronics Association has unveiled that Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management at AUDI AG, will deliver a preshow keynote address at the 2015 International CES Asia.

Diversified Communications acquired media company HRM Asia of Singapore, its fifth international acquisition of 2014.
The acquisition establishes an operating division in Singapore and adds HR Summit, Asia’s largest human resources event, as well as the HRM Congress series, HRM Magazine and HRM Online to Diversified’s portfolio of more than175 events, eMedia products and print magazines.
