The second running of Reed Exhibition’s World Smart Energy Week Osaka is expected to attract around 200 exhibitors and 20,000 trade visitors to Intex Osaka next month.
Organised by Reed Exhibitions Japan, the three-day trade show will take place Sept. 3-5.

Kuala Lumpur will chalk up another notch of “firsts” with the upcoming 2014 Toastmasters International Convention, set to be held Aug. 20-23 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
For the first time in its 90-year history, Toastmasters is holding its International Convention outside of North America and across the globe in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Messe Frankfurt announced the acquisition of two trade shows in India through its subsidiary Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd. The international organiser acquired the LED Expo and Media Expo from New Delhi-headquartered Media Exposition & Events (MEX) for an undisclosed sum. There seems to be no slowing down for the Chinese exhibition industry, with the country posting the most growth in five years, as well as a plethora of new centers being built.
UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, released the 10th edition of its annual Report on the Trade Fair Industry in Asia, and net space sold in the overall Asian trade show market jumped by 6.6 percent in 2013 to more than 17.3 million net square meters (186 million net square feet), compared with 16.31 million net sq. m. Last week, Hong Kong-listed Pico Far East Holdings announced its interim results for the six months ended April 30.
Revenues were US$214 million, a slight increase by 1.7 percent, compared with the same period in 2013.
However, profits in the period dropped by 7.1 percent year-on-year, to US$11 million. Dilute earnings per share in the six-month period were HK$0.0713 (US$0.0092).
Pico’s largest business segment in the six-month period was the exhibition & event marketing services, generating US$160 million, or almost 75 percent of total revenues.

Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions, a joint venture between Reed Exhibitions, the world’s leading events organizer, and Sinopharm, China's largest state-owned pharmaceutical group, will launch The Health Industry Summit (“tHIS”) next year in Shanghai.
