Reed Exhibitions’ global portfolio of more than 400 trade shows had a banner year in 2012, with UBM also posting significant gains for the year in its events portfolio.
Revenues for Reed Exhibitions’ trade show division, a Reed Elsevier company, climbed 15 percent from £707 million ($1.06 billion) in 2011 to £854 million ($1.28 billion) in 2012.
This division led the four other segments of the company’s portfolio – Science, Technical and Medical; Legal; Risk Solutions; and Business Information.

The Mission: Get members of the Denver Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE Denver) networking, while showing off the LoDo neighborhood of Downtown Denver. Oh, and make it fun.
NACE Denver tasked the Arrangers, a Destination Management Company headquartered in Denver, to carry out this mission. Danny Findley, sales manager at Arrangers, said, “The chapter wanted to do a team building event and thought maybe a scavenger hunt.”

Portable Network Graphics (PNG) is a robust file format that was created to display and transfer high-quality digital images on the internet. There are a number of reasons why web designers prefer PNG over GIF and JPEG while optimizing images for the web:
PNG supports both full and partial transparency with nice anti-aliasing or softening of the edges.
It uses a non-patented lossless data compression algorithm resulting in high fidelity to the original graphics and no dithering in the optimized graphic

Neon is a must-have color for spring, according to the buzz on the showfloor of OFFPRICE Show, the bargain apparel, accessories and footwear show that took place Feb. 17-20 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Owned by U.K.-based Tarsus Group, OFFPRICE was part of the Las Vegas's biannual Fashion Week, which included events at several venues across town, such as the Las Vegas Convention Center and Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
The show has seen boon times during the recession, with both of its biannual editions being honored as TSNN fastest-growing shows.

In a unique collaboration between the Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau and Messe Duesseldorf North America, the two are partnering to launch Medical World Americas April 28-30, 2014, at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center.
